En route vers le z\u00e9ro d\u00e9chet, il est important de r\u00e9aliser que le but ultime n'est pas de quantifier le montant r\u00e9el de d\u00e9chets mis au rebus chaque semaine. Le d\u00e9fi de nos poubelles peut et doit \u00eatre explor\u00e9 sous un autre angle. Il est temps de repenser nos d\u00e9chets, et de se d\u00e9barrasser de nos mauvaises habitudes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Comprendre nos besoins.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Au lieu de simplement vouloir jeter moins, on devrait faire face \u00e0 notre relation avec les d\u00e9chets et en faire un engagement. Une volont\u00e9 de faire un peu mieux qu'hier, pour le bien de notre plan\u00e8te. Il s'agit de rechercher un style de vie plus authentique. O\u00f9 l\u2019on peut r\u00e9ellement fonctionner avec moins tout en gaspillant moins. Et en vouloir moins. Mais \u00eatre tout de m\u00eame heureux et productifs pour une vie \u00e9quilibr\u00e9e, une vie saine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Prolonger la dur\u00e9e de vie utile des objets.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Pourquoi repenser nos habitudes vis \u00e0 vis des d\u00e9chets ? Parce que, chaque semaine, on retrouve des articles tout \u00e0 fait bons ou l\u00e9g\u00e8rement us\u00e9s plac\u00e9s en bordure de rue pour un aller direct vers la d\u00e9charge. Pourquoi ne pas les d\u00e9tourner de ce dessein funeste et prolonger leur dur\u00e9e de vie ? Et si on les r\u00e9inventait ou les adaptait \u00e0 notre \u00e9poque moderne ? Et si on les embellissait ? Raviver leur gloire pour qu'ils ne finissent pas en ajoutant encore au probl\u00e8me global que l\u2019on a avec les ordures mais plut\u00f4t pour qu\u2019ils contribuent \u00e0 r\u00e9soudre les d\u00e9fis qui affectent notre cha\u00eene d'approvisionnement actuelle\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Les meubles en bois massif<\/a>, par exemple, ont un potentiel incroyable pour combler une p\u00e9nurie de fabrication affectant les stocks disponibles. Pourquoi s'en d\u00e9barrasser ainsi ? Les meubles artisanaux ont un sens, une valeur. Ils ont \u00e9t\u00e9 fabriqu\u00e9s par des mains habiles. Avec attention, avec effort et savoir faire. Il nous faut renouer avec la valeur des choses<\/a>. Une notion toute autre que le montant en dollars coll\u00e9 \u00e0 une \u00e9tiquette sans \u00e2me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Des sacs remplis d'articles venant conclure nos traditionnels nettoyages de printemps sont des produits de premier choix qui n\u2019attendent que d'entrer dans le monde s\u00e9lect du march\u00e9 d'occasion<\/a>. Les m\u00e9taux d\u00e9laiss\u00e9s sont tr\u00e8s en demande. Il n'y a qu'\u00e0 les refondre sous leur forme brute, pour qu'ils puissent \u00e0 nouveau \u00eatre transform\u00e9s en articles utiles. D'autres mati\u00e8res recyclables comme les papiers et les plastiques doivent \u00eatre envoy\u00e9es vers le bon circuit pour pouvoir retourner \u00e0 leur \u00e9tat initial r\u00e9utilisable. Elles peuvent ainsi perp\u00e9tuer le processus encore et encore sans occuper un espace pr\u00e9cieux, perdu, dans nos d\u00e9potoirs. Il est grand temps de poser un regard honn\u00eate sur ces ressources que nous n\u2019utilisons pas \u00e0 leur plein potentiel et de repenser notre relation avec nos d\u00e9chets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Alors on regarde un peu plus loin que l'objet encombrant<\/a> dont on veut se d\u00e9barrasser. On fait nos recherches. On d\u00e9couvre qui pourrait b\u00e9n\u00e9ficier de ces choses dont on ne veut plus ou dont on n\u2019a plus besoin. Nos d\u00e9chets repr\u00e9sentent un tr\u00e9sor pour quelqu'un d'autre. Ou du moins pourraient l'\u00eatre. Alors, c'est tout simple. On donne, on d\u00e9tourne, on r\u00e9invente et on initie le changement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Abandonner le jetable<\/strong>.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Quant aux accessoires \u00e0 usage unique, c'est le moment id\u00e9al pour penser \u00e0 l'avenir et introduire le r\u00e9utilisable \u00e0 la place dans nos vies. Pas d\u2019articles \u00e0 usage unique signifie qu\u2019on n\u2019a pas \u00e0 constamment jeter les objets de notre quotidien. Et \u00e0 en acheter de nouveaux. On r\u00e9duit donc efficacement la quantit\u00e9 de nos d\u00e9chets. On fait notre part pour d\u00e9velopper la durabilit\u00e9 ici m\u00eame, en Nouvelle-\u00c9cosse, pour se diriger vers un avenir meilleur. Pour nous et pour nos g\u00e9n\u00e9rations \u00e0 venir.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Les serviettes<\/a>en papier, les essuie-tout et les gobelets \u00e0 usage unique\u2026 Les mouchoirs jetables<\/a>, les couverts et les sacs en plastique ont tous leurs homologues r\u00e9utilisables. Des solutions vertes qui peuvent \u00eatre introduites, une \u00e0 la fois, pour faire la diff\u00e9rence dans notre fa\u00e7on de consommer et de g\u00e9n\u00e9rer des d\u00e9chets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Alors on profite de la grande vari\u00e9t\u00e9 d'essentiels durables maintenant disponibles sur le march\u00e9. La plupart d'entre eux finiront s\u00fbrement m\u00eame par aller un peu plus loin que leur simple usage en cr\u00e9ant une exp\u00e9rience, en am\u00e9liorant notre quotidien. Le rendant encore plus sp\u00e9cial, unique et appr\u00e9ciable. Une formule gagnante pour nous et pour notre plan\u00e8te !
