The After Christmas

So another Christmas has come and gone. A time to remember for some, and one to quickly put behind for others. Mixed feelings, new beginnings, through grief or found love, we all approached this holiday season with our very own dynamics, hopes, and apprehensions. And no matter if this was indeed a success or a swing and a miss, one thing remains for sure : there is always room for improvement. Because now is the after Christmas, a time where all is possible.

Room for improvement ?

Indeed ! This Holiday might have been perfect for some of us, but there has to be at least one thing we might have wanted to do even better, differently. The great news is that now is the perfect time to tackle that could’ve-should’ve-would’ve. We are way ahead of our game… for next year !

So let’s start now, while all is fresh, to think about all those little things we could have done better to enjoy a little more that sweet sweet time of the year.

Assessing Christmas.

A look back into those last few days, while they are still close enough for us to explore genuinely the areas we adored, and the ones we would have liked to spruce up a bit :

1. The logistics. From time off to holiday décor, reflecting on how to best manage our time approaching the holiday season and why less can be more when it comes to trimming our glorious Christmas trees.

2. The food. What countless hours spent in the kitchen told us about how to best handle next year’s feast and how a little planning can guarantee us the best gift yet to give our loved ones.

3. The presents. How to unclimb mountains of wrapping paper and what we can do to make next Christmas the best yet to remember, with a little effort and lots and lots of love.

4. The finances. Where to start next year to not go overboard and overflow with remorse while still making the best of fun times when it comes to spending during the holiday season.

5. The emotions. How to mentally prepare all through the year to fully enjoy this time of giving and being reunited with our loved ones for a marathon of food and memories.
