Our Shipping Policy.

We make every effort to prepare orders as quickly as possible. Orders are prepared/shipped within 3 business days after the order has been successfully placed. Time to prepare orders may vary depending on various unforeseen factors.

If you are able to do so, order pick up is strongly encouraged. If you are living in HRM or planning a trip to the city, we will be happy to meet with you to personally hand you your order ! Do you know of someone who will be visiting HRM ? Let us know and we will gladly make arrangements with you to have them bring you your order.

We are currently working on a local delivery/drop-off system within Nova Scotia for our customers’ convenience. More details will be available as soon as it is implemented. At the present time we are able to offer two hassle-free options for you to get your order as simply as possible : order pick-up in HRM and standard shipping everywhere else.

Shipping : Domestic And International.

Islands To Cottages is an eco-friendly organization. We abide by strict sustainability standards over all aspects of our business and we are actively committed to lowering our carbon footprint to the best extend possible. This includes encouraging local order pick-up whenever feasible. We believe in limiting to the strict necessary any shipment of items when it is avoidable to do so due to the greenhouse gases emissions pertaining to the very process of shipping.

With all efforts being made to alleviate carbon gas emissions and generate waste to a minimum, all orders are packed using repurposed materials and sealed using plastic-free tape. Unfortunately we cannot guarantee the way our products are being handled once they pass the counter of the shipping company.

Please note that shipping times are calculated based on the information provided to us by the shipping company handling your purchase. Unexpected service delays may occur periodically due to severe weather, natural disasters, unscheduled events, etc. Those unforeseen events are beyond our control and therefore we cannot guarantee shipping delivery dates. We are not responsible for shipping carrier delays.

Delivery standards are based on normal delivery conditions and are subject to change without notice. A package’s expected delivery date depends on its date of shipment. As circumstances may change over time, please check the expected delivery date on the day of shipping.

• We ship from Nova Scotia, Canada.
• Orders will ship within 3 business days after the order has been successfully placed.
• Shipping charges for Domestic, USA and International orders will be calculated and displayed at checkout. Shipping costs are subject to change at any time.
• We do not charge handling or packaging fees.
• Shipping applies to one address per order.
• You will receive a shipment confirmation email/text with your order and shipping details once your order has shipped with a tracking number if applicable.
• Please review it carefully to ensure all information is correct. We will not be held responsible if the customer provides the wrong shipping address. For further assistance with the order details, please contact us as soon as possible.
• No changes will be made to the order once the order has shipped.

Additional Information – USA and International Orders

• For USA and International orders, customers will have to meet international policies upon reception of their order.
• Orders may be subject to import duties and taxes inherent to your country of residence. Those are incurred once a shipment reaches the destination country. We are not responsible for these charges if they are applied as those are the responsibility of the customer.
